2020 Corvette C8 Review: Should You Chase It?

The highly anticipated C8 Corvette Stingray is almost on the roll already. This unit was publicly introduced on July 18 this year. Specifically, it is a 2020 model vehicle that features a completely different design–making it a pariah of all the Corvette that had been released on the market.

In this 2020 Corvette C8 review, you will see the very aspects of this vehicle that it make it notoriously popular and highly sought.

Speed and Power

For starters, the 2020 Corvette C8 features an aspirated 6.2-liter V8 engine. It has been situated in the middle of the car and is capable of generating up to 495 horsepower and 470 pound-foot of torque. From these details alone, it is unsurprising anymore why many people rated it as a road best. It has insane power and running speed, which simply outclasses other luxury cars.

The power of this 2020 Corvette C8 is directly driven to the rear wheels through its eight-speed, dual-clutch transmission. But unlike other Corvettes, this one will not provide you with any manual configuration.

It has been noted as well that this vehicle has the Z51 performance package. If you have been an avid car enthusiast, you probably know that this particular package is the game-changer. After all, it allows the car to do 0-60 mph runs in less than 3 seconds. That capability alone is more than enough to compel people to chase this unit.

Specifically, the Z51 package integrated burly but powerful brake rotors, enhanced cooling system, high-performance exhaust, and the most-coveted proprietary suspension system of Corvette.

Interior Ergonomics

Meanwhile, the interior of this vehicle does not fall short. In fact, it can be labeled as extraordinary, intricate, and intuitive. Specifically, the manufacturer of the car decided that the system of the 2020 Corvette C8 will focus on optimizing the performance of its driver. The steering wheel has been squared-off, and the digital gauge system has been re-worked for better ergonomics.

The infotainment system of this unit offers a responsive touchscreen platform. All the essential information about the current status of the car is indicated there.

Of course, this vehicle would never be driver-oriented if it doesn’t provide comfort. The seats of this vehicle are engineered to provide support to the back of the driver. It can be adjusted into different customizations and positions as well. Also, there is a myriad of selection for the style of the seat. Basically, you will be given the option to select the type of stitch and color of the seat’s upholstery.

Exterior Aesthetics

The exterior of the 2020 Corvette is downright jaw-dropping. If you are among those people who prioritize aesthetics in their selection process, this speed demon will surely captivate you. In fact, it is quite difficult to imagine the level of complexity the Corvette designers experienced when they drafted its original layout. Even in the process of engineering and refining the unit, there’s certainly that it did not sit on standards.

The inspiration for its exterior came from the combination of two design prototypes of Corvettes. It is for that reason why it looks strangely familiar even the overall exterior has been altered significantly.

Specifically, the 2020 Corvette C8 has a cab-forward structure. For Corvette fans, this is a foreign design. However, the Corvette bloodline is still extremely clear on this rig. After all, its front is still pointed, and the headlights are trimmed to be angular. There are noticeable character lines printed on its roof and hood. Meanwhile, shades of black are accented on the side air intakes.

You can also enjoy the C-shaped tail lights of the 2020 Corvette C8. After all, it is reminiscent of its predecessor–the Corvette C7. It even has similarities with the tail light of the latest Camaro. The spirit of the ZR1 seemingly exists on the C8 because of the same structuring of their wedge-shaped air intakes.

Price

Chevrolet, the manufacturer of the 2020 Corvette, noted that the price of the latter would start at around $60,000. Of course, that’s just the base price. However, the official price of this unit is yet to be finalized. The exact cost will only appear when the car will be launched by the end of this year.

Of course, if you are gunning for this car, such a price should not bewilder you. Instead, you should look forward to it. The Corvette C8 is really worth acquiring, considering all the hefty features that it possesses.
